Job Description

Planning NEXT is a leading community visioning and planning firm located in Columbus, Ohio. Our tight-knit and fast-paced office is seeking a supportive and energetic team member to join our national practice.

We are seeking a graphic designer to assist our firm with a variety of graphic design needs, including project graphic design support and marketing graphic design support. Quality visual communication is essential to our work, and we are looking for an individual who is passionate about graphic communication, a strong communicator and writer, and a quick learner with an excellent aptitude for task management. Beyond providing graphic support for projects, this position will work closely with leadership to produce high-quality, attractive, and concise responses for public bids and requests for proposals (RFPs) related to community and urban planning projects.

Main responsibilities include:

Project

  • Project graphic design support. Create document templates, project logo & brand standards, collateral, postcards, boards, etc.

Marketing

  • Conduct marketing reconnaissance. Track and pursue community and urban planning project opportunities through various forums.
  • Manage the proposal development process. Develop materials efficiently and in a timely manner to meet the proposal deadline.
  • Coordinate materials. Coordinate with other sub-consultants joining the team to collect the required materials.
  • Apply style guidelines. Ensure all materials provided by the team are visually and contextually consistent.
  • Prepare persuasive materials. Produce graphically rich and compelling proposals to secure new work and prepare dynamic presentations and interview materials.
  • Submit final product. Print, assemble, and ship proposals.

 

Position requirements:

  • 2-5 years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual communication, graphic design, marketing, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign), MS Office software, WordPress (not required but helpful).
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-starter.

 

This position is a full-time, exempt position working at our office in Columbus, Ohio. This position could be partially remote (after the first six months), but it is expected that the successful candidate will spend at least three days per week in person in our office.

Salary range: $50,000-$60,000. Salary is based on applicable experience and skill set.
