Event Description:
Join us for a special presentation by Amanda Hoffsis, Vice President of Planning, Architecture and Real Estate (PARE) for The Ohio State University, to learn about the Carmenton development plan.
Carmenton is bolstered by investment – including nearly $900 million of public and private support to date and more than 350 acres of land re-imagined for development. Ohio State, the city of Columbus and JobsOhio have come together to accelerate collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors in this vibrant new neighborhood that facilitates the exchange of knowledge to help deliver solutions to the market and the world.
In the long term, Carmenton will add residential areas, green spaces, connector trails, restaurants and entertainment venues. It will be a walkable and bikeable neighborhood that will feel like home to the people who work in, live in or visit the district. Already underway, Carmenton’s first phase includes the Energy Advancement and Innovation Center, as well as the Pelotonia Research Center and The James Outpatient Care, all located along Kenny Road.
About Amanda
Amanda serves as the Vice President of Planning, Architecture and Real Estate (PARE) for The Ohio State University. This office of talented professionals manages the real estate assets of the university and several university affiliates, and is responsible for campus planning and design. Amanda oversees all real estate services and campus planning initiatives, including all master plans and facility plans, major project design oversight, and strategic planning for the university’s physical environments.
Prior to taking over as PARE’s Vice President, Amanda served as Associate Vice President overseeing all real estate activities for the university including strategic sales and acquisitions, leasing, entitlements, property management and strategic real estate planning. Her previous roles with the university included management of the One University Framework Plan, capital planning, and space and facility planning.
In addition, Amanda also leads two university affiliate organizations. As the CEO of Campus Partners, Amanda leads their community development work throughout the University District neighborhoods, including the development and management of multiple mixed-use projects adjacent to campus. She played a pivotal role in the land acquisitions and development of University Square at 15+HIGH and the development of the Upper Arlington Outpatient Care facility.
She also serves as President of SciTech, managing high-tech research facilities along Kinnear Road and leading the implementation of the university’s Innovation District development.
Before joining the university, Amanda worked for an international consulting firm developing facility master plans for large K-12 schools districts. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Ohio State and has a Master of Business Administration from Colorado Technical University.
